WF GIRLS & UNIOTO BOYS BOTH START 2019 WITH GREAT SUCCESS
Lady Mustangs win at McClain
Unioto takes second place in 10-team field at Buckeye Hills
Expectations are extremely high for this year's WF Lady
Mustangs, and the team showed why in their first match of
the season. Westfall carded a team total of 354 as they
dominated the field. Second place West Union finished
well back at 432.

Sophomore Maddi Shoults led the way with her medalist
round of 75. Teammate Ella Seeley shot an 81, and
Elizabeth Hart and Emily Cook both shot 99. Maddie Cook
was also in action for WF with a score of 101.
Unioto's Ty Schobelock carded a medalist round of 76 Tuesday at Buckeye
Hills as Unioto finished in second place. Schobelock is the returning Player
of the Year in the SVC, and he and his team (last year's league champions)
are both strong favorites to repeat in 2019.
Shoults goes well under par to pace
Lady Mustangs to second-place finish
Westfall took part in Thursday's Madison Plains Invite at Locust Hills, and Maddi Shoults enjoyed a nice day on the
course. The sophomore took medalist honors in the nine-hole event with an incredible six-under round of 30. The round
helped Westfall challenge a very good Teays Valley team. In the end, Teays Valley (161) was two shots better than
Westfall (163). Completing the scoring for Westfall was Ella Seeley (40), Emily Cook (46), Elizabeth Hart (47), Maddie
Cook (48), and Makayla Bryant (56).

Ty Schobelock of Unioto scorched the course and the field on Saturday. The senior carded a 65 to easily win medalist honors and help
Unioto to the team title. The seven-under round for Schobelock was one stroke off the 2001 record round of 2001 by Unioto’s Nick
Breeden. Unioto posted a winning team total of 323.

Southeastern’s Joel Richendollar was the runner-up medalist with a 75. This round led Southeastern to the team runner-up finish with a
score of 358. The Panthers were just one stroke better than Westfall and McClain, but the Mustangs were able to claim third due to the fifth-
player tiebreaker score. Vinton County, Jackson, and Gallia Academy rounded out the field.
