In Saturday's D-II sectional championship, the Waverly Tigers defeated Unioto 3-2.
Lady Pioneers win sectional title
Zane Trace captured a sectional championship Saturday with a 5-0 win over North Adams. It
was described to me as a sluggish first half as the highly favored Lady Pioneers led only 1-0 at
halftime. The first half score came on a Megan Jaruwannakorn to Rachel Hutton goal. The
goal proved to be plenty for goalie Ali Jones and the Zane Trace defense.

The second half saw Zane Trace come alive immediately. Less than a minute into the second
half, Hutton found Montana Fry for a goal. Fry would strike again – this time from Sydney
Johnson – to give ZT the 3-0 lead. The Zane Trace scoring was capped off by a pair of
assists from Jaruwannakorn with the first resulting in a header from Brooke Uhrig and the
second ending in another score from Hutton.

Zane Trace will next play Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. against Minford.
Zane Trace had its season come to an end with a 1-0 loss to
Alexander in Monday night's district semifinal.
Lady Pioneers now stand as
SVC’s only postseason hope
With Unioto girls falling in the D-II district with a 4-1 loss to Warren, Zane Trace's girls now stand as our league's final
hope in postseason soccer.

Zane Trace rolled to a 6-1 win over Minford in the D-III district semifinal Tuesday night. Montana Fry led the way with
four goals while Megan Jaruwannakorn scored a goal and assisted on two others. Rounding out the scoring was Rachel
Hutton, who scored to put Zane Trace on the board first, and Courtney Dye and Kim Wolfe recorded an assist and a
pair of assists respectively. Goalie Ali Jones continued to anchor a solid ZT defense allowing just the one goal.
Fry scores four times in win
ZT in action at Athens High School
One more for the Final Four
The Zane Trace Lady Pioneers are now just one step shy of the Final Four. After
weather forced the OHSAA to move ZT's Tuesday night D-III regional semifinal soccer
match to Thursday night, the Lady Pioneers made it all worth the wait as they defeated
Coshocton 3-0.

Rachel Hutton found Montana Fry to put ZT out in front 1-0. This score would
eventually be the halftime score before Fry and Hutton both added unassisted goals in
the second half to secure the win. The Zane Trace defense was outstanding once again as
they, led by goalie Alli Jones - have now posted back-to-back shutouts.

The win advances Zane Trace to Saturday's regional championship where they will face
Middletown Bishop Fenwick at 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln High School.
Saturday marked the end of a great tournament run for the Lady Pioneers of Zane
Trace. After a crazy week of scheduling and rescheduling, Zane Trace found its way past
a once-beaten Coshocton team Thursday night, but on Saturday, Middletown Bishop
Fenwick proved to be too much as ZT fell 2-0.

The loss ends the season for Zane Trace with a record of 16-4-1.
Zane Trace's high
school roster had nearly 40 players this year. The Lady Pioneers say goodbye to 10
seniors, but with several key players returning next season, it appears the expectations
will be extremely high again come 2013.
