"WIN" Streaks
The Mustangs had their SVC, best-ever streak
end at 29 straight wins. Westfall lost to Zane
Trace in Week 7 of the 2009 season to end the
The Lady Warriors lost to Westfall in the
opening match of 2012. The loss stops an
amazing streak at 98 straight SVC wins. Adena
also won 142 straight home games
before falling to the Lady Mustangs.
Paint Valley's back-to-back gold balls in the
mid-90's produced 28-straight wins - the only
program to ever win two straight golden
Southeastern's group started a streak in 2001 that stretched to
32-straight wins in 2003 before coming to an end. The streak ended
on December 20th of that year when SE lost 64-48 at Piketon.
The Zane Trace softball program won 47 straight
games from 2005 until April 17, 2009 - a night the
Lady Pioneers lost a 5-1 decision to Piketon.
Don Neff's Unioto Shermans won 38-straight games
during the late 90's and into 2000. ZT beat Unioto in
Coach Ron Allen's first SVC game to end what many
feel is the most impressive streak in league history.
Even though Paint Valley won two golden basketballs, Westfall won
38 straight games (according to John R. Skinner's
Pastimes of Ross County, Ohio
) from 1981-1983. The streak was
stopped by Huntington during the 1982-1983 season.
In 2013-2014, Unioto lost on opening night to ZT, and then ran off
13 straight SVC games to win the league. The following season –
2014-2015 – the Tanks won all 14 games stretching the win streak to
27 straight. T
he past two seasons, Unioto finished 14-0 as the streak
now sits at 5
5 straight – bettering the SE streak from the early 2000s.
