Submitted to SVCsportszone.com from Coach Paxton

Unioto took a small group of athletes to the Mehock relays in Mansfield this weekend. This meet started in 1927 and
has seen 6 former champions win Olympic gold medals and many of our state records set there.

Trevor Detillion became a double Mehock Champion and moved into the all time top ten for the meet in the discus
with a state best throw of 189 feet this is also a top ten throw in the United States for the year. He will be competing
in an elite field at the Penn Relays this coming weekend. Only 20 from the nation are selected for the field in this
event which is the oldest track meet in the US. He also won the shot put with a personal record and state top five
throw of 57'2.

Along with Trevor, David Magda finished 6th in the elite mile (had to be a returning state qualifier and sub 4:30 in the
mile to be invited) he ran 4:36. He also finished 10th in the 800 which was won by this year's indoor national
champion. Freshman Cole Clever finished 4th in the 1600 in 4:39 and Jesse Griesheimer finished 5th in the 3200 in
10:27. The team finished 6th only a few points out of 2nd behind such powerhouses as Dayton Dunbar Cleveland
JFK, and Cleveland Glenville.

On the girls side, Elena Knipp finished 3rd in the 1600 followed by teammate Kela Harkins in 5th. The each also
placed in the 800. Haley Wright moved into 2nd all time for the school (behind Kela) with a third place finish in the
3200. She was followed by Alex Evans in 12:15 which is the new freshman record for the school.
